Frieze Art Fair 2011

Frieze Projects is an annual programme of site-specific works for Frieze Art Fair. This year eight artists have been chosen by Frieze to create work for this years Frieze Art Fair. The lucky eight are: Bik Van der Pol, Pierre Huyghe, Christian Jankowski, Oliver Laric, LuckyPDF, Peles Empire, Laure Prouvost and Cara Tolmie.

Work not to miss is the commission from LuckyPDF who are an artist group based in Peckham. The collective is made up of Ollie Hogan, Yuri Patterson, James Early and John Hill. I know Yuri and Ollie from my time at Goldsmiths and it's great to see emerging artists of my generation doing so well. Most of the work they showcase is video and performance art which they then broadcast on LuckyPDF TV. They have also shown at the Venice Biennale, Tate Modern and more recently the Barbican to name a few. At Frieze they will be inviting over 30 lucky artists to show and produce new work for a series of live daily broadcasts made at Frieze Art Fair. You will be able to join them in the project space studio for open rehearsals and live recordings. If you are unable to make the fair this year please make sure you check them out on the Frieze Foundation website to not miss any of the action!

The fair takes place in Regents Park, 13-16 October and features over 170 contemporary art galleries. To buy tickets click here.. tickets will be cheaper if you buy them now in advance and if your thinking of going to art school then this is a definite must! - Kirsty
