Launched in 1960 as Britian's first modern glossy men's magazine, its art director Tom Wolsey crough together young photographers including David Bailey, Terence Donovan, Don McCullin and Phillip Jones Griffiths, who went on to shape British fashion photography and photojournalism in the mid 1960s.

Anne Braybon investigates the importance of Town as a platform for contemporary and emerging photography in the UK in the early 1960s, and Wolsey's role as a mentor to the new generation of British photographers.
